| PRISCA STARTS SECOND EUROPEAN TOUR |
|
July 29th 2009, El Universal, Caracas, Venezuela The pianist and singer starts a new challenge in the old continent with presentations in Spain, France and Italy. Prisca keeps demonstrating why she is one of the main exponents of Venezuelan music. After her first successful European tour back in February and March last year, the pianist and singer will return to the old continent on July 2nd . She’ll perform in Italy, Spain and France. “The first successful tour led to a second one. I had really prepared some gigs with some friends who live in Spain and France. However, seeing how Europe appreciated Venezuelan music those days between February and March was very encouraging”, declared Prisca. Prisca just toured as a guest soloist with the Chacao Symphony Orchestra around the Andean regionof Venezuela. She premiered an arrangement for piano and orchestra of “El Negro José” written by the late maestro Aldemaro Romero. Then, she played at the IV Festival de la Salsa Internacional de Margarita accompanying percussionist Gerardo Rosales who resides now in Holland. She got into the salsa wave singing and playing piano. She’ll go on a new European tour to perform on different stages for a month. The adventure will kick off on July 2nd at Le Troquette in Marseille, France. Then, she’s going to continue at L’entrepot in the same city where she’ll play the show known as “We’ll go two pianos” along with Simón Bolzinger. They’ll play Venezuelan and Latin American music. Their repertoire will include songs like the quitapesares joropo, La Guachafita; the danzón, Almendra; Lágrimas Negras and Zumba Que Zumba, among other tunes. “Simón Bolzinger is a great pianist, a very talented one. He’s really in love with Latin music. He knows how to interpret it and fuse it. There is this chemistry between us so that we can play at two pianos. There is no doubt it’ll be a great concert”, affirmed Prisca. Prisca will give a three-format concert: first, piano solo;and then a two-piano and a two-piano/vocals concerts along with Simón Bolzinger. The concert of the two pianist will continue on July 4th at Places Des Pistoles in Marseille, and then it’ll move on to the Chateau Des Arnejaus in the city of Puy Sainte Reparade where they’ll perform at the closing of the Poetry Festival. The tour will continue on July 7th in Rome, Italy. Since Venezuela is celebrating its Independence Day, the Venezuelan Embassy in Rome has organized an art exhibit with 3 Venezuelan painters. Prisca will give a piano solo concert of traditional Venezuelan music at the inauguration of the event. The Commemorative event will stay on until July 11th. After her presentation in Italy, Prisca will travel to Madrid, Spain, to play music from her four albums with her own quintet. The band includes bassist Manuel Torcat, percussionist Hilda Hernández, and drummer Iván Díaz who are Venezuelans living in Spain. The fifth element is Prisca’s father Eduardo Dávila who plays saxophones, flute, and does backing vocals. They’ll be performing at Sala Contraclub on July 16th and at Bar Despertar on July 17th . The band will perform in Salamanca on July 22nd , in Valladolid on July 24th and in Zamora on July 25th. The pianist will play at various jazz clubs. Prisca will be a deserving representative of the Venezuelan tradition in Europe once again. These second European tour and her previous shows in countries like Brazil, Korea, The Dominican Republic and Panama evidence that Prisca is one of the most international Venezuelan artists. |
